The McGrath Albion is a compact, trade-grade digital smart lock designed for Australian residential and light commercial applications. It provides four access methods in a single platform and is managed through the McGrath Locks App using Bluetooth, with optional Wi-Fi remote access available via a compatible gateway.
This model is supplied with a 60/70mm adjustable backset tubular latch and is also compatible with most common Australian commercial mortice locks. Finished in matt black, the Albion offers a clean, modern appearance combined with proven smart lock functionality.

Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 × AA alkaline batteries (not included).
- Typical battery life of up to 18 months, based on approximately 10 lock operations per day.
- Low battery alerts are provided audibly at the lock and within the McGrath Locks App.
- USB-C emergency power input allows temporary operation using a power bank if batteries are depleted.
- Mechanical key override provides physical emergency access at all times.
- User credentials and lock programming are retained during battery replacement.
Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock does not include native Wi-Fi connectivity. Remote access and management features are available only when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks gateway.
When a gateway is installed, users can remotely unlock the door, issue or revoke access credentials, and view access activity through the McGrath Locks App from anywhere with an internet connection.

Does the Albion require internet to operate?
No. Bluetooth operation does not require internet access. Wi-Fi remote access requires an optional gateway.
Is the Albion suitable for external doors?
Yes, for sheltered or undercover external applications. The external housing is IP65 rated but not designed for direct rain exposure.
Does the Albion support DDA compliance?
Yes, DDA compliance can be achieved by fitting optional DDA-compliant levers (sold separately).
