Vault Zenith Slimline Push Pull Smart Lock with 3D Face Recognition

The Vault Zenith is a slimline push-pull smart lock designed for modern front doors where a long-body lock with advanced biometrics and flexible mortice selection is required. It combines 3D facial recognition with a full credential stack in a narrow push-pull format.

Zenith supports facial recognition, fingerprint, PIN code, Bluetooth, RFID card, and app control, with optional remote access and smart-home functionality available through the Vault G5 Wi-Fi Gateway.

The mortice type and size is customer-selectable at checkout - confirming your door's backset and door type before ordering is an essential part of the purchase decision.

Face recognition icon Facial Recognition Access

Zenith includes 3D facial recognition for touch-free entry. The 3D sensor type differs meaningfully from 2D camera-based recognition - see our buyer's guide for the technical distinction and what it means for spoofing resistance and liveness detection.

Facial recognition works alongside fingerprint, PIN, RFID card, Bluetooth app control, and backup key access. Face capacity is listed as 100 users in the supplied manual.

If installing in a commercial, strata, or managed rental context, review the Australian Privacy Act obligations that apply to facial recognition data collection before proceeding.

IP65 Weather Rated
Zenith is IP65 weather rated, providing full dust protection and resistance to low-pressure water jets from any direction.
IP65 is suitable for most everyday outdoor residential and light commercial door applications.

Mortice/Latch Selection Important
This lock is supplied with a 6085 (60 mm backset) mortice for hinged/swinging doors as standard.
Other options are available to choose from through the checkout process.
Example - Hinged Doors
Vault hinged swinging mortice - 85 mm lock centres, stainless steel
Standard mortice format used on hinged and swinging doors. See the Vault hinged swinging mortice overview for more detail.
View Hinged Door Mortice Options
Example - Sliding Doors
Vault sliding hook mortice - for sliding doors, stainless steel
Sliding doors require a hook bolt mortice for correct operation. See the Vault sliding hook mortice overview for more detail.
View Sliding Door Mortice Options
Example - 60 mm Tubular Latch (Optional)
60 mm tubular latch - optional selection for Vault Zenith smart lock
A tubular latch uses a spring bolt rather than a deadbolt. Suitable for internal doors or applications where a fully deadlocking bolt is not required. Available as an optional selection at checkout.
Selecting the correct mortice or latch is critical for proper installation. Hinged and sliding doors require different mortice types. If you are unsure, see our guide to backset and smart lock mortice selection.

Battery icon Battery, Power & Backup Access

  • A rechargeable lithium battery and USB-C charging cable are included. For realistic maintenance expectations, see our guide to smart lock battery life.
  • USB backup power functionality is also referenced in the supplied Zenith manual, allowing temporary operation while recharging.

  • Confirm battery charge and key access during initial setup.

Wi-Fi icon Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)

This smart lock operates via Bluetooth connectivity as standard. Remote access and internet-based control are available only when paired with a compatible Vault Wi-Fi gateway.

When connected to a gateway, users can remotely manage access, review activity, and add supported Alexa or Google Home functionality. The G5's dual-band Wi-Fi avoids the band-steering problem that affects single-band gateways on modern routers.

For a full comparison of gateway generations, see our G2 vs G3 vs G4 vs G5 gateway guide.

For remote functionality, see the Vault G5 Gateway.

Mechanical Key Backup
Zenith includes two backup physical keys for emergency access.
These remain available if battery power is unavailable or electronic methods cannot be used. Confirm key operation during initial setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the 3D face recognition work?
A structured-light 3D module reads facial geometry for fast, secure unlocking. Registration is done within about 1.2 metres; a radar sensor wakes the lock as you approach (sensitivity is adjustable). See the full range and manuals in our Vault smart lock range overview and compare facial recognition smart locks.
Does the Zenith need Wi-Fi to work?
No. It runs locally via Bluetooth, face, fingerprint, PIN, RFID card and mechanical key. Remote access (unlock from anywhere, remote passcodes, logs) is optional and requires the Vault G5 Gateway - see what a gateway does.
What happens if the battery goes flat?
The Zenith runs on a DC7.4V lithium battery (18650 cells, recommended 5000mAh+). If it is depleted you can provide emergency power via the Micro USB (5V) backup, or use the supplied mechanical key.
Will it fit my door?
The Zenith is a slimline push-pull lock (35 x 400 x 50mm) with a 55mm recommended clearance. Confirm your stile width and mortice preparation before ordering.
Can it be used outside?
The Zenith is IP65 rated for dust and low-pressure water jets, suitable for most everyday external residential doors. It is not submersible.

Additional Information

Slimline Fitment: The Zenith suits slim aluminium and timber stiles. Measure your stile width and confirm mortice preparation and the 55mm clearance before ordering.
Face Recognition and Radar: Face registration works within about 1.2 metres. The radar sensor sensitivity is adjustable; if switched off, pressing "9#" temporarily re-enables it. Default PIN is 123456 until changed.
Power and Battery: DC7.4V lithium (18650, 5000mAh+ recommended) with a 5V Micro USB emergency backup. Like any electronic lock it is not set-and-forget - keep the battery charged.
Weather Exposure: IP65 suits most external residential doors; in coastal Queensland correct installation and maintenance remain important.
Related Vault Face-Recognition Models: Compare the slimline Vault Eclipse and Vault Alpha, the lever/knob Vault Phantom, and the push-pull Vault Fortress and Vault Quantum. See them all on the Vault range overview.
Optional Remote Access: Add the Vault G5 Gateway for remote unlock, remote passcodes, clock calibration and Alexa or Google Home integration.

Important Notes

IP ratings and weather resistance
Where a Vault product carries an Ingress Protection (IP) rating, that rating is stated on the individual product listing, packaging or technical documentation. Unless stated otherwise in writing, the IP rating applies only to the external-facing side of the lock - not to the internal assembly, handle, battery compartment, electronics, cables or connectors. The internal side must be installed in a dry, sheltered position. An IP rating describes water resistance, not waterproofing: the lock must not be submerged, pressure washed, or exposed beyond its stated rating, and all seals, gaskets and covers must be correctly fitted and undamaged.
Warranty assessment fee
Vault's manufacturer policy applies a warranty assessment holding fee, which is refundable if the fault is found to be covered under warranty. If a product is assessed as outside warranty or damaged by an excluded cause, a discounted replacement may be offered. We will confirm any applicable fees and options with you before any assessment proceeds.
Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
