McGrath X3 Digital Smart Deadbolt
The McGrath X3 is a compact digital smart deadbolt designed to add secure, keyless access to hinged timber and aluminium doors without replacing existing handle hardware. It is ideal as a primary deadbolt or as a secondary locking point paired with a passage or privacy handle.
Managed through the McGrath Locks App using Bluetooth as standard, the X3 allows access via PIN codes, RFID credentials, fingerprint recognition, Bluetooth eKeys, and a mechanical key override. Optional remote access can be enabled by pairing the lock with a compatible McGrath Locks Wi-Fi gateway.

Access Features
Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 × AA alkaline batteries (not included).
- Typical battery life up to 12 months (based on approximately 10 uses per day).
- Low battery alerts provided audibly at the lock and within the app.
- USB-C emergency power input allows temporary operation using a power bank.
- Mechanical key override ensures access in all power conditions.
- Terry’s Locksmiths strongly recommends the use of Duracell batteries.
Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock does not include native Wi-Fi connectivity. Remote access and management features are available only when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks gateway. When a gateway is installed, users can remotely unlock the door, issue or revoke access credentials, and view access activity through the McGrath Locks App from anywhere with an internet connection. Warranty Summary
How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries (the place of purchase) within the applicable warranty period.
- Supply your proof of original purchase — a receipt or tax invoice is required.
- Provide a clear description of the fault and your contact details.
- You may be asked to return the product for assessment before a remedy is determined.
- McGrath Locks will, at their discretion, repair the product, replace it with the same or an equivalent model, or provide a refund of the purchase price.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Products that have been disassembled
- Damage caused by improper handling, incorrect installation, misuse, abuse, neglect, modification, or accident
- Installation by unlicensed persons (including non-licensed locksmiths or technicians)
- Products not used in accordance with the supplied instructions
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality
- Labour or installation costs related to the removal or reinstallation of products
- Exposure to conditions outside normal environmental use
- Work completed before warranty approval
- Damage caused by battery leakage, battery failure, or force majeure
Important Notes
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This warranty is provided in addition to your rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law.

X3 Digital 60/70mm Adjustable Deadbolt
Found the product does all that is stated by many reviews. The significant issue found during the installation was the size (length) of the three 5mm screws that attach the “Back body” to the mounting plate. The screws provided are not long enough to perform the necessary action. I am not sure if others have found the same issue.
