ABUS Key Garage KGCABLEC - Flexible Cable Shackle for KG777C and KG797C
The ABUS KGCABLEC is a 10 mm plastic-coated steel cable that takes the place of the rigid shackle on ABUS's padlock-style Key Garage key safes. Where the standard shackle is a short fixed loop, the cable bends around whatever is in front of you - a fence rail, a scaffold tube, a balcony railing, a gate frame, a door handle - and lets the key safe hang from it.
It suits the ABUS Key Garage KG777C push-button model and the ABUS Key Garage KG797C dial model. Both carry a removable shackle as standard, which is exactly why a cable can be fitted in its place and the original shackle put back later. Wall-mounted Key Garages have no shackle to replace and are not compatible.
The plastic coating is there for two reasons: it keeps the steel off the paint, powder coat or timber you wrap the cable around, and it stops the cable marking the key safe body. Think of this as a mounting part, not a security part - the cable buys you placement, not extra resistance to attack.

- Door handles, grilles and security screens: anywhere the anchor point is an awkward shape rather than a neat bar.

ABUS's own specification sheet lists that 10 mm in a row headed "shackle diameter", because the table was written for the shackle version and the field label was carried across. On a cable model it is the diameter of the cable, which is what the same sheet says in its description - a 10 mm thick steel cable. We have carried it as Cable Diameter here for that reason.
