ABUS Key Garage One KG787C - Wall Mounted, Dial Combination
The ABUS Key Garage One KG787C is a wall-mounted key and card storage unit secured by a resettable 4-wheel dial combination. It provides controlled shared access to keys without distributing physical copies, and requires no battery, app, or connectivity of any kind to operate.

Suitable Uses
- Residential properties requiring shared key access: A single resettable combination gives multiple people access to the same keys without the need to duplicate them.
- Holiday rentals and short-stay accommodation: Change the combination between guest stays with no app or administrator account required. For how mechanical key safes fit into a broader short-stay access strategy, see our guide to key safe use cases beyond the beach.
- Service access for trades, cleaners, and maintenance staff: Share the current combination for scheduled access, then reset it when access is no longer required.
- Offices and light commercial environments: A straightforward, low-cost key management solution for small teams where a full access control system is not warranted.
- Locations where a zero-battery, fully offline solution is required: The KG787C has no electronics in its locking mechanism and does not depend on any power source, connectivity, or account to function.
ABUS Key Garage - Item Code Family
The KG787BTC is the only model in this family with Bluetooth connectivity and an access audit trail. All other models use mechanical access only.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the KG787C suitable for fully exposed outdoor installation?
No. This model is intended for indoor use or protected outdoor locations only. It should not be installed where it will be subject to direct rain or prolonged moisture exposure.
Can the combination be changed after installation?
Yes. The 4-wheel dial combination is fully resettable by the owner. The combination should be changed whenever access is handed between users - for example, between holiday rental guests or after a trade visit. No tools are required; instructions are included in the box.
Does this model support vehicle or automotive mounting?
No. The KG787C is a wall-mounted unit and is not compatible with automotive adaptors or vehicle mounting brackets.
Additional Information
Key capacity in practice: The stated capacity of up to 15 keys is based on standard flat keys. Bulky fobs, oversized key heads, or tagged keys will reduce usable capacity. Access cards take up significantly more space per slot than standard keys.
Installation substrate: Mounting on solid substrates - masonry or timber framing - is recommended for long-term reliability. The steel back plate provides a stable base, but the wall anchor point carries the full load of the unit and its contents.
KG787C vs KG787LEDC vs KG787BTC: The KG787C is the entry-level mechanical model with no battery dependency and no electronics. The KG787LEDC adds LED-illuminated dials for low-light use (powered by a coin cell). The KG787BTC Smart Bluetooth adds app control, individual user management, and a full access audit trail. For a practical guide to choosing between mechanical and smart key storage options, see our smart padlock and key safe guide.
Combination security: A shared combination means anyone who knows the current code can access the safe - there is no audit trail, no individual code per user, and no remote revocation. For high-accountability access scenarios, the KG787BTC provides individually assigned access tickets that can be revoked without affecting other users.
