ASSA ABLOY Aperio P100B-200 Wireless Access Control Padlock with Chain and Clamp - RFID and Mobile Credentials, IP66
The ASSA ABLOY Aperio P100B is a battery-powered wireless access control padlock. It brings openings that cannot practically be wired - fences, gates, storage cages, racks, containers and tool cabinets - into an existing Electronic Access Control system, using the same cards and phones staff already carry.
It communicates over the 2.4 GHz Aperio radio to a compatible Aperio communication hub, which in turn talks to the access control system over the AAPD protocol or a Wiegand interface. ASSA ABLOY states that no database integration is required. Swapping a mechanical padlock for a P100 takes seconds; there is no drilling and no cabling at the opening.
The P100B-200 is supplied with a chain and clamp, so it can be fitted where there is no hasp or staple to pass the shackle through. The P100B-100 is the same padlock without them.
The P100B is a component of an Electronic Access Control system. It holds no user database of its own: access decisions are made by the EAC system it is paired to, through an Aperio communication hub. It cannot be used as a standalone padlock, it has no keypad and no keyway, and it must be commissioned by an accredited installer. Confirm your EAC system supports Aperio before ordering.
This is a restricted product supplied to accredited installers only. It is a special order item and is non-returnable unless faulty. Confirm Aperio system compatibility before ordering.
ASSA ABLOY's own installation guide states the P100B must not be used in corrosive environments, or in environments with explosive or flammable atmospheres. The ASSA ABLOY warranty separately excludes damage caused by coastal air, salt spray and high humidity. On an exposed coastal site this matters - the IP66 rating covers water and dust ingress, not corrosion. If the opening is close to open salt water, talk to us before ordering. ASSA ABLOY qualifies the IP66 rating: it holds when the padlock is locked and held in the upright position. Mounted on its side or hanging open, the rating does not apply. The guide also asks for at least 20 mm of shackle clearance in service, so the base can be slid out for a battery change without removing the padlock from the opening.

No. The P100B holds no user database. Access decisions are made by your Electronic Access Control system, reached through an Aperio communication hub. It is not a standalone padlock.
The padlock keeps up to 1,000 last-valid credentials cached and up to 10 override credentials for emergency access, so authorised people can still get in during a communications or system outage. Exactly how that behaves depends on your EAC and hub configuration - confirm it with your integrator.
ASSA ABLOY says no. The installation guide states the padlock is not suitable for corrosive environments, and the warranty excludes damage from coastal air and salt spray. IP66 covers water and dust, not corrosion.
A special tool is required and one is supplied with the padlock. The base slides out of the jacket, so leave at least 20 mm of shackle clearance when you install it or you will have to remove the padlock from the opening to change the battery.
ASSA ABLOY's P100 ordering page lists the AH30-3-0 (up to 16 devices) and AH40-4-0 (up to 64 devices). The AH20 hubs we stock are one device per hub. The right choice depends on how many Aperio devices the site has and what interface your controller offers - ask your integrator.
Additional Information
The P100's radio certification rests on the Aperio C100 conformity certificate, its firmware updates use the C100 BLE firmware, and its specification table is identical to the C100 cylinder's. If you are already running C100 cylinders on site, the P100 is the same electronics package in a different housing - see the Aperio cylinder range.
The card must be within 4 cm of the base of the padlock. That is close - it is a deliberate design choice, not a limitation, and it is worth telling users so they present the card properly rather than waving it.
ASSA ABLOY quotes fewer than 30,000 cycles up to a maximum of two years. A high-traffic gate will reach the cycle limit long before two years; a rarely-opened container will hit the calendar limit first. Plan replacement on whichever comes first.
