ASSA ABLOY SMARTair TS1000 Lockdown Upgrade - Emergency Lockdown Licence
The ASSA ABLOY SMARTair TS1000 Lockdown Upgrade (SNCCLICLOCKDOWN) is a software licence that adds emergency lockdown to the SMARTair TS1000 management software. When it's activated, system administrators or authorised personnel can immediately secure designated doors across the SMARTair system in response to a security incident or emergency, restricting access according to predefined lockdown rules.
Lockdown is a Wireless Online feature. ASSA ABLOY lists global lockdown for the Wireless Online management level only - not for Standalone, Update-on-Card or Openow (Product Overview, page 4) - because it travels over the SMARTair wireless network, where door devices talk to TS1000 through SMARTair hubs, so it reaches the connected doors together rather than door by door.
It suits schools, campuses, hospitals and healthcare, offices, commercial buildings and multi-tenant sites where a fast, coordinated response to a security event may be required. The devices it works on are listed under Compatible SMARTair Devices, with the ones that need an upgrade to Wireless Online first shown separately.

- Enables emergency lockdown functionality.
- Allows administrators to secure designated doors instantly.
- Supports centralised control through the SMARTair management platform.
- Enhances building security during emergency situations.
- Designed for integration with SMARTair electronic access control systems on the Wireless Online management level (Product Overview).
- Reaches the connected doors together over the SMARTair wireless network, rather than door by door.
What's Included
- SMARTair TS1000 Lockdown software upgrade licence.
- Configuration documentation.
Suitable Uses
Schools, campuses, hospitals and healthcare, offices, commercial buildings and multi-tenant sites running SMARTair Wireless Online, where a fast, coordinated response to a security event may be required.
Standalone, Update-on-Card and Openow-only sites: global lockdown isn't available on those management levels (Product Overview). Their devices need an upgrade to Wireless Online first - see Compatible SMARTair Devices.
SMARTair System Tools and Licences
SMARTair splits set-up and management across a small family of tools and licences. Each one does a different job, on different management levels:
What is SMARTair Lockdown Mode?
Lockdown mode allows administrators to immediately restrict access to selected doors within the SMARTair system during emergency scenarios.
- Predefined doors can be placed into lockdown.
- Only authorised credentials retain access.
- Used for security incidents or emergency procedures.
- Triggered through the SMARTair management software.
This capability is particularly useful in environments such as schools, hospitals, offices and commercial buildings where rapid response security measures may be required.
- One-action emergency response. An authorised operator can lock down - or release for evacuation - every wireless door on the SMARTair system from a single command in the TS1000 software.
- Real-time, system-wide. Because it rides the SMARTair Wireless Online network, the lockdown reaches all connected doors at once rather than door by door.
- Requires SMARTair Wireless Online (TS1000). Lockdown is a licensed upgrade to a Wireless Online site; it isn't available on Standalone, Update-on-Card or Openow systems (Product Overview, page 4).
- Ideal for schools, campuses, healthcare and multi-tenant sites where a fast, coordinated response to a security event is required.
Wireless Online is SMARTair's real-time level: access rights change instantly over radio frequency, door-left-open and intrusion alerts arrive in real time, and the audit trail arrives in real time (Product Overview). Each SMARTair hub manages up to 30 doors within a 30-metre range, and if communication fails a door keeps working offline with the latest information stored (Information Guide).
SMARTair System Compatibility
The lockdown upgrade works with SMARTair access control systems using the TS1000 management software platform:
- SMARTair electronic escutcheons
- SMARTair electronic cylinders
- SMARTair wall readers
- SMARTair wireless access control systems
System behaviour during lockdown depends on system configuration, door hardware and credential permissions. On the doors themselves, lockdown needs the Wireless Online management level: a Wireless Online site runs the TS1000 software licence, a card encoder, a portable programmer (or PC-TO-LOCK), SMARTair hubs, and RFID and/or mobile credentials (Product Overview, page 3).
Compatible SMARTair Devices
Lockdown reaches these SMARTair Wireless Online devices:
Needs an upgrade to Wireless Online first. Lockdown doesn't reach Standalone, Update-on-Card or Openow devices (Product Overview, page 4). Standalone devices first move to Update-on-Card with a firmware change and an upgrade key, with no hardware changes. From Update-on-Card, ASSA ABLOY's route to Wireless Online adds a wireless and Bluetooth module, a firmware upgrade and a new internal cover on the i-max (page 3). Each device's page covers its own route.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Global lockdown is a Wireless Online feature - ASSA ABLOY lists it as unavailable on Standalone, Update-on-Card and Openow (Product Overview). Devices on those levels need an upgrade to Wireless Online first; see Compatible SMARTair Devices.
A running SMARTair Wireless Online system: the TS1000 software licence, Wireless Online door devices, SMARTair hubs, a card encoder and a portable programmer (or PC-TO-LOCK) (Product Overview). Each hub manages up to 30 doors within a 30-metre range (Information Guide).
An authorised operator triggers it through the SMARTair management software, and a single command locks down - or releases for evacuation - every wireless door on the system. Because it rides the Wireless Online network, it reaches the connected doors at once.
Only if they're Wireless Online + Openow devices on SMARTair hubs. Openow on its own, and Update-on-Card + Openow, don't carry global lockdown (Product Overview).
Predefined doors are placed into lockdown and only authorised credentials retain access. Exactly how each door behaves depends on the system configuration, the door hardware and credential permissions, so the lockdown rules are set up with your installer.
Additional Information
- Lead time. This licence is a special order - the lead time is shown with the price.
- Plan the hubs. Lockdown travels over the wireless network, so hub coverage matters: each SMARTair hub manages up to 30 doors within a 30-metre range, and a door that loses communication keeps working offline on the latest information it holds (Information Guide). Book a site survey before ordering.
- Plan the lockdown rules. Which doors lock down, who keeps access and how evacuation release works all depend on the system configuration and door hardware, so settle them with your installer and your site's emergency procedures.
- Licensing and activation. This is a SMARTair TS1000 software-licence upgrade supplied and supported in Australia by Terry's; we manage any licensing or activation queries. Warranty terms for the SMARTair hardware it controls are in the ASSA ABLOY warranty below.
- Data and hosting. TS1000 is Windows client/server software with its own database on your server (Product Overview). For where access platforms keep data, see the ASSA ABLOY advantage.
Warranty
ASSA ABLOY branded products purchased new in Australia from authorised resellers are covered against defects in materials and workmanship for:
- Mechanical components: 10 years
- Electrical and electronic components: 5 years (excluding batteries)
- Cylinders and keys: 3 years
