Borg BL2000KSCNEW Mechanical Digital Knob Keypad - Keypad Only - Satin Chrome

The Borg BL2000KSCNEW is the external knob keypad from the Borg 2000 Series, supplied on its own in Satin Chrome. It is the part you see and use on the outside of the door - the pushbutton code chamber and knob - without the latch, internal handle, or any of the door hardware that makes up a complete lockset.

There are two reasons to buy it this way. The first is as a replacement: if the keypad on an existing Borg 2000 Series lock is worn, damaged, or corroded, this unit swaps in without replacing the whole lock. The second is as the front half of a retrofit: paired with one of the Borg adaptor kits, it converts an existing Lockwood 3572 or 3582 mortice lock or Lockwood 002 deadlatch to code entry while keeping the lock body already in the door. Like every Borg mechanical digital product, it is fully mechanical - no batteries, no wiring, nothing to charge.

Spare Part / Accessory - Not a Complete Lock
This listing is the external keypad only. There is no latch, no internal handle, and no lock body in the box. To put a working lock on a door it needs either an existing Borg 2000 Series installation to replace into, or a compatible Borg adaptor kit and host lock. If you are after a complete lock, the Borg BL2000SC lockset is this keypad supplied with its latch and internal lever as a full kit.

Key Features

  • Genuine Borg 2000 Series external knob keypad in Satin Chrome.
  • Fully mechanical operation -  no batteries, no electronics, nothing to fail in a power cut.
  • Borg quotes more than 8,000 possible code combinations for the 2000 Series chamber.
  • Code changed at the bench using the standard Borg tumbler method - no specialist tools beyond the change key and tweezers.
  • Non-handed - fits either door orientation without modification.
  • Replaces a worn keypad on an existing 2000 Series lock, or pairs with Borg adaptor kits for Lockwood 3572, 3582, and 002 retrofits.

Suitable Uses

The 2000 Series sits at the light-to-medium duty end of the mechanical digital lock range - internal office doors, storerooms, meeting rooms, utility cupboards, and domestic side doors where a shared code beats carrying a key. As a keypad-only unit, this product inherits that positioning: it serves 2000 Series installations and adaptor-kit retrofits in the same duty class.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a complete lock?
No. This is the external keypad on its own - no latch, internal handle, or lock body. It either replaces the keypad on an existing Borg 2000 Series installation or pairs with a Borg adaptor kit and host lock. The BL2000SC is the complete lockset version in the same finish.
What does this keypad fit?
Any existing Borg 2000 Series installation as a direct replacement, and - via the matching adaptor kit - a Lockwood 3572 mortice lock (BL3572KIT), a Lockwood 3582 short backset mortice lock (BL3582KIT), or a Lockwood 002 deadlatch (BL002KIT). The retrofit route keeps the existing lock body in the door and adds code entry to the outside.
How is the code changed?
At the bench, using the standard Borg non-ECP method: the keypad comes off the door, the chamber is opened, and the coloured tumblers are repositioned to set the new code. The procedure is covered step by step in our code changing guide and in the instructions PDF below. Spare coded and non-coded tumblers are stocked if any go missing on the bench.
Is it handed?
No - the keypad is non-handed and suits either door orientation without modification.
Does it need batteries?
No. The entire mechanism is mechanical - no batteries, no wiring, no electronics. That is the core appeal of the mechanical digital format: nothing to charge, nothing to fail flat, and no callout because a battery died.

Additional Information

  • Buying the keypad on its own is usually the economical fix for a corroded or vandalised keypad face - the latch and internal hardware in the door rarely wear at the same rate as the exposed chamber.
  • On retrofits, a scar plate covers the fixing holes left behind by the old hardware and saves patching the door face.
  • The 2000 Series is the non-Easicode chamber - code changes happen at the bench, not on the door. If on-door code changing matters for your application, look at Borg's ECP models instead; the spare parts story is one of the reasons the genuine Borg range outlasts hardware-store lookalikes.
