BORG BL2601KMGPRO Knob Keypad Only - Marine Grade Pro - Black
The Borg BL2601KMGPRO is a Marine Grade Pro external knob keypad designed as a replacement unit or custom build component for the Borg BL2601 series gate and door lock range. It is the standard (non-ECP) variant, using a tweezers-based tumbler code change performed at a workbench with the unit removed from the door. If you need on-door code changing, the ECP lever keypad BL4401KMGPROECP is available as an alternative handle style.
Built with 316 stainless steel internal components and a Black Marine Grade Pro 2 coating, the BL2601KMGPRO is salt-spray tested to 1,000 hours, rated for exposed coastal gate and external door installations. Over 8,000 possible code combinations are available using the 12 coded buttons.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Queensland public holidays).
This product is supplied as a knob keypad unit only. It does not include a latch, inside handle, strike plate, spindle, or fixing screws. It is designed for replacing a worn or damaged outside keypad on an existing BL2601 installation, or for custom installations where the inside hardware and latch are sourced separately. See Compatible Host Locks below for the full locks this keypad suits.
The BL2601KMGPRO carries Borg's Marine Grade Pro (MG Pro 2) coating and 316 stainless steel internal components, reaching 1,000 hours of continuous salt spray testing. This is appropriate for beachside, poolside, or exposed coastal gate and door applications. For a full explanation of Borg's MG Pro grading system, see MG Pro and Salt Spray Testing Explained.

- 1 x Marine Grade Pro external knob keypad (BL2601KMGPRO)
- 1 x Rubber gasket (weather seal between keypad and gate or door surface)

Latch, inside handle, spindle, strike plate, and full lock body are not included. This is a keypad replacement unit only. A compatible BL2601MGPRO complete gate lock is required for new installations.
Compatible Host Locks
The BL2601KMGPRO is the external knob keypad component for the following Borg Marine Grade Pro complete gate and door locks. It replaces the outside keypad on an existing installation, or provides the keypad half for a custom build sourcing the lock body and inside hardware separately.
Fitting this non-ECP keypad to a BL2601MGPROECP host lock removes the on-door ECP code change capability - the lock will then use the standard tumbler bench-change method. To retain ECP capability, use the original BL2601MGPROECP complete lock's own keypad. For a lever-handle ECP replacement option, see the BL4401KMGPROECP.

Frequently Asked Questions
Code changing requires removing the keypad from the door and working at a bench. With the cover plate removed, you use tweezers to reposition the red coded tumblers in the coding chamber. The clear C-button tumbler must never be removed. Codes can be 3 to 7 digits in length. For the detailed step-by-step procedure, see The Bench Method and Borg Standard Chambers: Series Notes. Spare tumblers are also available - see Change Keys and Spare Tumblers.
Yes - the MG Pro 2 coating and 316 stainless steel internals are designed for this use. At 1,000 hours of continuous salt spray testing, the BL2601KMGPRO is well-suited to beachside, poolside, or marine-exposed gates and doors. For a comparison of Borg's marine grade tiers, see MG Pro Salt Spray Testing Explained.
This product (BL2601KMGPRO) has a knob handle and fits the BL2601 series complete locks. The BL4401KMGPRO has a lever handle and fits the BL4401 series. The BL4401KMGPROECP has a lever handle with Easicode Pro on-door code change. All three share the same MG Pro 2 marine grade finish and the same salt spray rating.
In saltwater and coastal environments, regular cleaning is important. Rinse the push buttons and knob housing with fresh water after any salt exposure. Annual servicing of the tumbler coding chamber is also recommended. Note: for the MG Pro coating, Borg's BL2605 instructions recommend a dedicated marine-grade chrome polish plus WD40 on exposed latch and moving parts - do NOT use oil-based lubricants inside the tumbler housing, as this attracts debris. For general servicing guidance see the Borg Servicing PDF below.
Additional Information
The BL2601 series is designed for residential gates and light commercial applications. For high-volume pedestrian access where the gate is operated many dozens of times daily, consider a heavier-rated product such as the Carbine CDL7100SC. The Mechanical Digital Locks Buyer's Guide - Gate Section covers gate lock selection in more detail.
The knob handle on this keypad reverses without tools, making it suitable for gates of either handing. For an overview of double-sided gate locking where code entry is needed from both sides, see Why Double-Sided Locks Are a Smart Choice for Gates.
This keypad is primarily designed for the BL2601MGPRO complete lock. When ordering keypad-only parts, always verify the lock body series, spindle size, and whether an adaptor is needed before installation. For gate-specific narrow stile considerations, see Gate Post Too Narrow for a 60mm Latch?
