If a mortice latch body is preferred instead, the 8mm square spindle drive is compatible with most leading mortice lock brands.

After entering the correct code and rotating the outside lever, press F to engage free passage mode - the outside lever becomes free-turning without code entry, useful for busy periods when you don't want to re-enter a code every time. How to Change the Code - On The Bench
This model's code is changed with the outside keypad removed from the door - there's no on-door procedure. It's a fiddly job, best done with good light and a steady hand. Our Borg standard-chamber code change guide covers the same procedure with photos if you'd like to see it before you start:
- Remove the outside keypad from the door (4 red screws).
- Carefully lift the cover plate - the springs stay attached, so lift slowly.
- Hold the C-pin depressed the whole time you're working.
- Use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) pins - square cut-outs face outward, coloured marks face upward.
- Test the new code thoroughly before reinstalling the keypad.
Codes are non-sequential, so buttons can be pressed in any order. Spare pins let you adjust the code length from 3 to 7 digits. Most people manage the swap in around 20-30 minutes the first time; it gets faster with practice, and a locksmith will be quicker still.

The BL5201MG is the external grade version - polished chrome plate finish with 316 grade stainless steel internals, warranted for corrosion resistance in normal weather conditions, and suits thicker doors (35-80mm). The BL5201SC is for internal use only in satin chrome and suits doors 35-54mm thick. Choose BL5201MG for exposed external or weather-affected locations; choose BL5201SC for internal doors.
BL5001SC is the satin chrome variant of the BL5001 multi-finish listing. It shares the same 60mm backset and 35-54mm door range as the BL5201SC but steps up to a medium-heavy duty rating and carries an AS1905.1 fire door certification. Choose BL5001SC if the door needs a fire rating or sees heavier use; choose BL5201SC for a straightforward internal lever lock where fire rating isn't required.

Because the 8mm square spindle drive suits most leading lock brands, you may be able to keep your existing mortice lockcase and just replace the lever furniture - worth checking against your current lockcase before ordering a new tubular latch you may not need. A mortice lockcase sits inside a rectangular pocket chiselled into the door edge and is generally used for heavier-duty or fire-rated applications. Both accept the same 8mm square spindle from this keypad.

How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd first if you purchased through us or one of its associated trading names - we will assess the issue and manage the warranty process with LSC on your behalf. You do not need to contact LSC or Borg Locks UK directly.
- Have your proof of purchase ready (receipt or order confirmation).
- Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor. Where an item is returned to LSC, freight charges must be prepaid and the item returned within the warranty period.
- If LSC finds the returned item to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced, and a detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
