Borg BL5201SC Mechanical Digital Lock – Lever/Lever – Tubular Latch – Satin Chrome
The Borg BL5201SC is a fully mechanical digital lever lock from the BL5000 series. The clutching outside lever requires a code to open; the inside lever is always free to turn for immediate egress. Finished in satin chrome with a 60mm heavy duty tubular latch (12mm bolt projection). Up to 2,048 code combinations. Light to medium duty — suitable for internal use. Suits doors 35mm to 54mm thick. No batteries.
An optional free passage function (F button) allows the outside lever to be held in free-turning mode without code entry. The 8mm square spindle drive is compatible with most leading lock brands including mortice lock bodies. Single-sided: one keypad lever outside, one free lever inside.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
The inside lever is always free to turn. No code is required to open the door from inside. Only the outside (keypad) lever requires a code.
The BL5201SC uses a 60mm heavy duty tubular latch (12mm bolt projection) — not a euro mortice lockcase. A standard drilled door preparation is required for the latch, cross bore, and spindle. The 8mm square spindle drive is compatible with most leading mortice lock brands if a mortice latch body is preferred.
After entering the correct code and rotating the outside lever, press F to engage free passage mode — the outside lever becomes free-turning without code entry. To cancel: press F then C until an audible click is heard. The F tumbler disc can be permanently removed if free passage is never required.
Tumbler-based code system. To change the PIN, the outside keypad must be removed (4 red screws). Lift the cover plate (springs attached), hold the C tumbler depressed, then use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) tumblers. Code length adjustable 3–7 digits.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, and no battery maintenance at any point.
For heavy duty: consider the Borg BL7701, Lockwood DX, or Carbine CDL7000.
Accepts one active PIN code at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between BL5201SC and BL5201MG?
The BL5201MG is the external grade version — polished chrome plate finish with 316 grade stainless steel internals, warranted for corrosion resistance in normal weather conditions, and suits thicker doors (35–80mm). The BL5201SC is for internal use only in satin chrome and suits doors 35–54mm thick. Choose BL5201MG for exposed external or weather-affected locations; choose BL5201SC for internal doors.
What is the difference between BL5201SC and BL5001SC?
The BL5001SC and BL5201SC are very similar in specification — both are satin chrome BL5000 series lever/lever locks with a 60mm tubular latch, suitable for internal use, light to medium duty. Confirm with the GCS team which variant is stocked and available for your application.
How do I activate and cancel the free passage function?
To activate: enter the correct code, rotate the outside lever, then press the F button. The lever is now free-turning without code entry. To cancel: press F then C and wait for an audible click. To permanently remove the free passage function, open the keypad (4 red screws), remove the F tumbler disc, and replace with a standard coded or non-coded tumbler. Note: removing F changes the combination count from 1,024 to 2,048.
How do I change the PIN code?
Remove the outside keypad (4 red screws). Carefully lift the cover plate (springs are attached). Hold the C tumbler depressed at all times. Use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) tumblers. All square cut-outs must face outward; coloured marks must face upward. Test thoroughly before reinstalling. Codes are non-sequential. Spare tumblers adjust code length from 3 to 7 digits.
Is this lock suitable for external use?
No. The BL5201SC is listed for internal use only. For external applications, see the BL5201MG (external grade, polished chrome, 35–80mm doors).
Additional Information
The tumbler code can be set on the bench before installation. Set and verify the code before mounting. This avoids removing a fitted keypad for the first code change.
When the F tumbler is installed (passage function enabled): up to 1,024 combinations. When F tumbler is removed and replaced with a coded or non-coded tumbler (no passage function): up to 2,048 combinations. The F disc is supplied in the box.
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled — doing so will invalidate the warranty.
