Borg Mechanical Digital BL2200 – Knob Keypad – Holdback – Satin Chrome & Polished Brass
The Borg BL2200 is a light duty fully mechanical digital lock with a knob keypad outside and inside paddle handle with holdback. Code change uses the traditional Borg tumbler system — lock removal required. Over 8,000 combinations. Available in Satin Chrome (BL2200SC) and Polished Brass (BL2200PB).
Single-sided: the outside knob is clutched and requires a PIN to operate; the inside paddle handle is always free for immediate egress. The holdback facility allows the latch to be held retracted for free passage when required. No batteries. Suitable for light duty internal and sheltered external timber and composite doors from 35mm to 54mm thick. For on-door code change, see the BL2201SCECP.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and Qld public holidays)
The inside paddle handle is always free to operate. No code is required to open the door from inside.
After entering the code and operating the knob, the holdback can be engaged to keep the latch retracted — allowing free passage without code entry. The holdback device can be permanently removed if not required.
Tumbler-based code system. To change the PIN, the lock must be removed from the door. Remove the 4 red screws, carefully lift the cover plate (springs attached), hold the C tumbler depressed, then use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) tumblers. Over 8,000 combinations; code length adjustable 3–7 digits. For on-door code change, see the BL2201SCECP.
Entirely mechanical. No power source, no wiring, and no battery maintenance at any point.
For medium duty: BL2501SSECP. For heavy duty: Borg BL7701 or Lockwood DX.
Accepts one active PIN code at a time.

Installing on a narrow aluminium gate frame?
Planning to mount a Borg 2000 or 4000 series on an external gate with a 50mm × 50mm aluminium frame? Worried if the standard latch included in the box will fit?
You’re right — it won’t.
To get this lock working properly on gate frames, you’ll need a shorter latch.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between BL2200SC/PB and BL2201SCECP?
Both are light duty, 60mm, holdback knob keypads. The BL2200 uses the tumbler code system — lock removal required, 8,000+ combinations. The BL2201SCECP uses Easicode Pro on-door code change. Choose BL2200 where the code is rarely changed; choose BL2201SCECP where on-door code changes will be performed.
How do I change the PIN code?
The lock must be removed from the door. Remove the 4 red screws, carefully lift the cover plate (springs attached), hold the C tumbler depressed, then use the supplied tweezers to reposition the red (coded) and blue (uncoded) tumblers. All square cut-outs must face outward; coloured marks must face upward. Test before reinstalling. Codes are non-sequential — buttons can be pressed in any order. Spare tumblers adjust code length from 3 to 7 digits.
Is there any functional difference between SC and PB variants?
No. BL2200SC (satin chrome) and BL2200PB (polished brass) are identical in mechanism, backset, door thickness range, combination count, and holdback function. The only difference is the finish. Select based on the finish that best complements your existing door furniture and hardware.
Can I remove the holdback?
Yes. The holdback device can be permanently removed from the inside paddle handle before or after installation without affecting the lock's normal operation.
Additional Information
The tumbler code can be set on the bench before installation. Set and verify the code before mounting to avoid removing a fitted lock for the first code change.
Polished brass is suitable for internal and dry sheltered external use. Avoid exposure to moisture, condensation, or outdoor weather. For external applications, satin chrome provides better long-term resistance to surface marking and oxidation.
All Borg locks are warranted against mechanical defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a minimum of 12 months from date of sale. The warranty does not cover damage arising from misuse, vandalism, or improper installation. The lock must not be dismantled — doing so will invalidate the warranty.

How a Warranty Claim Works
Warranty claims for Borg products in Australia are processed through LSC, the authorised Australian importer and distributor for Borg Locks. If the returned item is found by LSC to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced. Products must be returned to the LSC office with freight charges prepaid within the warranty period. A detailed assessment report is provided to the customer after examination.
Contact Terry’s Locksmiths first — we will assess the issue and manage the warranty process with LSC on your behalf. You do not need to contact LSC or Borg Locks UK directly.
