McGrath Grange Entrance Pull Handle with Smart Lock
The McGrath Grange Smart Pull Handle Lock is a residential smart entrance lock combining a full-height architectural pull handle with multiple electronic access methods. The lock allows authorised users to unlock the door using fingerprint, PIN code, RFID credential, Bluetooth mobile app, or mechanical key override.
The Grange lock is designed for modern residential entry doors and incorporates an integrated electronic deadbolt mechanism with adjustable backset. The system is managed through the McGrath Locks mobile application, which provides access management, user permissions and activity records. Remote control is available when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath gateway.
The exterior housing is rated IP65 for outdoor exposure and constructed from stainless steel with a tempered glass keypad and fingerprint reader.
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and QLD public holidays)
Save on Door Hardware
The McGrath Grange integrates the smart lock and the full-height entrance pull handle into a single unit. This is an ideal solution for fresh-fit on a new door.
Traditional smart lock installations often require a separate architectural pull handle or push/pull furniture, which can add several hundred dollars to the door hardware cost.
By combining the lock and pull handle, the Grange can reduce hardware costs and simplify installation. Pairing the lock with a roller bolt or roller catch provides optimal functionality (stays closed when unlocked) while the electronic deadbolt controls security.

Access Methods
The Grange supports five credential types simultaneously. For a detailed explanation of how each access method works and when to use each, see Chapter 03 — Smart Lock Access Methods in the Buyer's Guide.
Suitable Uses
- Residential front entry doors
- Modern architectural entrance doors
- Smart home access control
- Doors requiring multiple access credential types
- Double door entrances when paired with matching Grange dummy handle
For double entrance doors, only one door normally contains the smart lock mechanism. The McGrath Grange dummy pull handle is designed for the inactive door so both doors have the same architectural appearance.
The dummy handle contains no electronics or locking mechanism. It simply provides a fixed pull handle that visually matches the active Grange smart lock, creating a symmetrical entrance when the doors are closed.

- Mechanical key override provides physical backup entry if electronic access methods are unavailable.
Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock does not include native Wi-Fi connectivity. Remote access and management features are available only when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks gateway. When a gateway is installed, users can remotely unlock the door, issue or revoke access credentials, and view access activity through the McGrath Locks App from anywhere with an internet connection. For a detailed explanation of gateway types, capabilities, and selection guidance, see Differences Between McGrath G2, G3, G4 and G5 Gateways.
Not sure whether you need a gateway at all? See Chapter 08 — Smart Lock Gateway Comparison in the Buyer's Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the McGrath Grange smart lock connect directly to WiFi?
The lock communicates using Bluetooth as standard. Remote access, monitoring and unlocking via the internet requires a compatible McGrath gateway connected to your home network.
Which mobile app is used to manage the lock?
The lock is managed using the McGrath Locks mobile app available on both Apple iOS and Android devices. The app allows user creation, temporary access permissions, audit records and remote control when used with a gateway.
Can the lock be installed on double entry doors?
Yes. A matching McGrath Grange dummy pull handle is available for the inactive door. This allows both doors to have the same architectural appearance while only one door contains the electronic lock.
What should I check before drilling for the lock?
Confirm your door's backset (60 mm or 70 mm from the door edge to the centre of the bore hole) and door thickness (35-60 mm standard, up to 100 mm with extended tailbar). Use the supplied installation template for handle fixing centres and bore position. For a step-by-step backset measurement guide, see Measuring Your Lock Backset. For common installation mistakes and how to avoid them, see Smart Lock Not Locking? 3 Common DIY Mistakes.
What happens if the batteries go flat?
The lock includes a USB-C emergency power input which allows temporary power from a power bank so the door can be unlocked. A mechanical key override is also provided.
How many users can be programmed?
The lock supports multiple users including fingerprints, PIN codes and RFID credentials. Access permissions and user management are controlled through the mobile application.
Additional Information
The Grange smart lock requires standard smart lock preparation including a 54mm cross bore hole and either a 60mm or 70mm backset latch position. Installation templates supplied by the manufacturer should be used to ensure correct handle alignment. If you already have a vertical push-pull handle on your door, see our guide to retrofitting or replacing an existing push-pull handle before ordering.
The lock operates using AA batteries located inside the internal housing. Typical battery life depends on usage frequency, but the lock includes low-battery alerts through the mobile application and keypad indicators.
The exterior housing carries an IP65 environmental rating which provides protection against rain and outdoor exposure when installed on residential entry doors. For a plain-English explanation of what IP ratings mean and how they are tested, see Chapter 11 — Australian Smart Lock Standards.
The Grange smart lock can be paired with McGrath gateway devices to enable WiFi remote access and monitoring. Matching Grange dummy pull handles are also available for installations on double door entrances.
