McGrath NX1 Digital Smart Lock
The McGrath NX1 is a versatile 5-in-1 digital smart lock designed for hinged timber and aluminium doors with a standard stile. Sitting between the slimline A-Series and the larger NX5, the NX1 provides a balanced solution for residential and light-commercial applications, with a body size that offers some forgiveness for retrofit installations without the bulk of oversized retrofit locks.
Lock configuration and access management are handled through the McGrath Locks App using Bluetooth as standard. Access can be granted via PIN codes, RFID credentials, fingerprint recognition, Bluetooth eKeys, or a mechanical key override. Remote access and management can be added when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks Wi-Fi gateway.

Access Features
Battery, Power & Backup Access
- Powered by 4 × AA alkaline batteries (not included).
- Typical battery life up to 12 months (based on approximately 10 uses per day).
- Low battery alerts provided audibly at the lock and within the app.
- USB-C emergency power input allows temporary operation using a power bank.
- Mechanical key override ensures access in all power conditions.
- Terry’s Locksmiths strongly recommends the use of Duracell batteries.
Wi-Fi Remote Access (Optional)
This smart lock does not include native Wi-Fi connectivity. Remote access and management features are available only when the lock is paired with a compatible McGrath Locks gateway. When a gateway is installed, users can remotely unlock the door, issue or revoke access credentials, and view access activity through the McGrath Locks App from anywhere with an internet connection. Warranty Summary
How to Make a Claim
- Contact Terry's Tradies Pty Ltd and its associated websites, trading names, and subsidiaries (the place of purchase) within the applicable warranty period.
- Supply your proof of original purchase — a receipt or tax invoice is required.
- Provide a clear description of the fault and your contact details.
- You may be asked to return the product for assessment before a remedy is determined.
- McGrath Locks will, at their discretion, repair the product, replace it with the same or an equivalent model, or provide a refund of the purchase price.
Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Products that have been disassembled
- Damage caused by improper handling, incorrect installation, misuse, abuse, neglect, modification, or accident
- Installation by unlicensed persons (including non-licensed locksmiths or technicians)
- Products not used in accordance with the supplied instructions
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality
- Labour or installation costs related to the removal or reinstallation of products
- Exposure to conditions outside normal environmental use
- Work completed before warranty approval
- Damage caused by battery leakage, battery failure, or force majeure
Important Notes
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This warranty is provided in addition to your rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law.

Product is great, but instructions to install, not so much. However I called and spoke to Toby and Marc who were very helpful

NX1 Mcgrath lock
Good lock, ive just been using the finger print scanner its works a treat. Probably the only thing i dont like is you have to lock it with the app when youre inside but other than that its great. The after hours service from you guys is even better from when I was installing it. Above and beyond legends
