McGrath Locks F05 ANSI Mortice Lock - Grade 1 Stainless Steel - 70mm Backset
The McGrath Locks F05 ANSI mortice lock is a Grade 1, BHMA certified, heavy-duty commercial mortice lock designed for high-traffic applications. Constructed from SS304 stainless steel and engineered for long service life, the F05 is commonly specified in commercial buildings and smart lock installations requiring a robust ANSI mortice format.
The F05 is a latch-only mortice lock (no mechanical deadbolt), which makes it the simpler and usually safer choice for smart lock and fire-door installations - see the F05 vs F54 comparison below. Cylinders are supplied separately (threaded Kawneer mortice cylinder).
Usually same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excluding weekends and QLD public holidays)
BHMA Grade 1 certified and cycle tested to 1,000,000 operations, the F05 is built for high-traffic commercial doors. For how lockset grading works, see Chapter 11 - Australian Standards & grading.

F05 vs F54 ANSI Mortice Locks - What's the Difference and Which One Do You Need?
The difference between the McGrath F05 and F54 ANSI mortice locks is simple:
- F05 (this product) is a latch-only mortice lock with no deadbolt.
- F54 includes a mechanical deadbolt in addition to the latch.
If you are installing a smart lock or fitting hardware to a fire-rated door, the F05 is usually the safer and simpler choice. The F54 should only be used where a mechanical deadbolt is specifically required and the compliance implications are understood.
