Wolflok Pro Maximum Security Mechanical Key Safe - 2.2kg
At A Glance
The Wolflok Pro Maximum Security Mechanical Key Safe (960071) is the flagship maximum-security mechanical key lock box in the Wolflok range. Tested and rated to both LPS1175 Issue 8 A10 and B1 by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB), it is the most secure mechanical key storage device of its class available in Australia. Like all Wolflok products, it requires no power supply, no internet connection, and no app - a mechanical key safe works entirely through a physical combination, providing reliable independent key access at any hour.
The Pro's defining difference from the standard Wolflok is its triple-wall construction combined with a hardened stainless steel internal liner - an additional layer of reinforcement that enables the B1 security rating when mounted with the included WFK001FK XL Security Screws and Wall Plugs on brick, concrete, stone, or rendered walls. Additional hardened anti-saw pins and coned anti-drill hinge pins further reinforce the unit against sustained physical attack.
The Pro shares the same patented world-first multi-push keypad as the standard Wolflok - each of the ten buttons usable up to four times, generating over 9.7 million code combinations. The illuminated soft-touch keypad and internal vault light provide full visibility at night without any external power source, and the vault opens normally even if the illumination battery is flat. Two screw kits are included in the box: the WFK311 standard screws for A10 certification, and the WFK001FK XL kit for B1 certification on rendered and concrete surfaces. Browse every key safe we stock in Key Storage.
Usually ships same day if ordered before 11am AEST (excludes weekends and Queensland public holidays).
Wolflok Pro is built from zinc alloy known for its corrosion and attack resistance, with an additional stainless steel internal liner. The included ABS plastic weather cover provides an extra barrier against rain, UV, and dust, and contributes to the product's IP55 ingress protection rating. Fully operational from -30°C to 50°C and resistant to 96% relative humidity - tested in salt mist conditions at 35°C. Suitable for coastal Queensland installations.
Wolflok's attack resistance isn't just a certification number - it has been physically demonstrated on video. Watch the Wolflok survive a sledgehammer, flamethrower, high-pressure water blaster, tractor crush, and more.
▶ Watch the attack test on YouTube
Wolflok Pro's patented illumination technology backlights all ten keypad buttons and the internal vault the moment you activate it - no torch needed at night. The 7mm soft-touch buttons are large enough for easy use by all ages, in any light condition.
The illumination is powered by a single replaceable Renata CR2032 coin cell battery, rated for 2 years or 2,000 cycles. Importantly, the vault is fully mechanical - if the battery goes flat, the keypad and vault light simply won't illuminate, but the lock still opens normally with the correct code. You are never locked out due to a flat battery.
Access Method
The code is the only way in. There is no app, no Wi-Fi and no mains power involved, and there is no master override code - see Frequently Asked Questions.

Battery, Power & Illumination
The illumination module contains a CR2032 button/coin cell battery. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children. If swallowed, a button or coin cell can cause severe internal injury within a couple of hours - seek immediate medical attention. Do not dispose of batteries in household waste; recycle in line with local regulations.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both ratings are LPS1175 Issue 8 certifications from the LPCB. B1 is the higher standard - it requires the unit to resist a sustained physical attack for a longer duration than A10. The Wolflok Pro achieves A10 with the supplied WFK311 standard screws on brick, concrete, stone, or single-skin walls. It achieves B1 with the supplied WFK001FK XL screws and wall plugs on brick, concrete, stone, or rendered walls (render up to 20mm). For most residential applications A10 is sufficient; for commercial, security service, or high-risk premises, use the WFK001FK kit to achieve B1. Full guidance on which screws to use for which surface type.
The standard Wolflok (960064) uses double-wall zinc alloy construction and achieves LPS1175 A10. The Wolflok Pro (this product) adds a third wall layer, a hardened stainless steel internal vault liner, and additional anti-saw pins, raising its weight from 2.1kg to 2.2kg and enabling the B1 certification. The Pro also includes both screw kits in the box. Both models share the same external dimensions, keypad, illumination system, and code mechanism - choose the Pro where the B1 rating or rendered wall installation is required.
No. The 100mm WFK001FK screws and wall plugs may cause structural damage to single-skin walls. For single-skin walls, use the WFK311 standard screws instead (A10 certification maintained on single-skin). See the full installation guidance in the supplied instruction manual or our guide to when DIY installation is appropriate.
The code is set using the WFK898 code change tool (included and stored inside the vault). Open the vault, remove the internal cover to expose the code dials, and use the amber tool to turn each dial to the number of times that digit appears in your chosen code. Any digit not in your code is set to zero. Each digit can be used up to four times. A full walkthrough is available at How to Code Wolflok and Wolflok Pro. Always store the code change tool inside the vault - it is stored there by design as a security measure.
There is no master override, reset code, or manufacturer recovery function. If the current code is completely unknown, the unit must be professionally removed and the vault mechanism will be damaged in the process. This is by design - no backdoor means no attack vector. Always record your code in a secure location separate from the key safe itself. Gold Coast Smart Locks does not hold codes.
Additional Information
Both A10 and B1 ratings require strict compliance with the installation instructions. Key rules: drill only into the brick face, never mortar; maintain at least 150mm from any wall edge or corner; the unit must sit flat to the wall; use the paper marking template (not the unit) as your drilling guide; on cavity walls, check for pipes, cables and insulation before drilling. For the B1 method, drill 4mm pilot holes then open them out with the 8mm bit to 110mm deep, press the wall plugs flush (tap them in with a hammer if needed), and drive the XL screws with a ratchet or power tool with care, finishing by hand. For the A10 method, drill 5mm holes 70mm deep and fit the WFK311 screws by hand with a T30 Torx driver - no power tools. Never over-tighten either kit. Screws are single-use - order fresh WFK001FK or WFK311 before reinstalling. Unsure about your wall type? See when DIY installation is appropriate. For the mounting errors that most often void certification, see common installation mistakes.
The Wolflok Pro's zinc alloy body, stainless steel liner, and IP55 rating make it well-suited to coastal installations. The ABS weather cover provides an additional barrier against salt air and UV, but in north or west-facing positions the cover may show UV degradation before the body itself requires attention. The salt mist figure in the specifications is a laboratory cabinet test result, not a guarantee of service life on the coast. See our guide to coastal key safe maintenance, outdoor grade-C considerations for coastal hardware and Queensland considerations.
The Wolflok Pro is the right choice when certified physical security and independent key access are the priority - with no dependence on power, internet, or a mobile device. For property managers or Airbnb hosts who need full access automation, remote code management, or PMS integration, a smart lock may be more appropriate. See our key safe versus smart lock comparison for hosts and how a Bluetooth key safe compares and our guide to mechanical key safe best practice.
Choose a wall location not directly visible from a public street or neighbour's window. Avoid south-facing walls where moisture may pool. Position at approximately 1.0-1.4m from ground level for comfortable one-handed keypad operation. Never label or tag the key safe with the property address - keys stored inside should also be untagged.

Wolflok Pro Maximum Security Mechanical Key Safe - FAQ, Setup and Owner's Guide
Everything below is here to help you choose, install, code and look after your Wolflok Pro. For general questions see our Smart Lock FAQ (Chapter 13), and for the full series of guides see the Buyer's Guide.
Choosing a Wolflok
Choose the Pro when you need the higher LPS1175 B1 rating or are mounting on a rendered wall and want B1 there. It adds a third wall, a hardened stainless steel inner vault and extra hardened anti-saw pins, weighs 2.2kg against 2.1kg, and ships with both screw kits so you choose the rating at installation. Outside those needs, the standard Wolflok (960064) shares the same exterior, keypad, illumination and code mechanism for less.
Wolflok key safes are attack-tested by BRE (Building Research Establishment), an independent test house, and certified to LPS1175 Issue 8 by the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) - A10 with the WFK311 screws and B1 with the WFK001FK XL screws and wall plugs on the Pro. The rating only holds when the key safe is installed exactly as Wolflok's instructions describe, on a wall type the rating covers.
Then look at a Bluetooth key safe such as the ABUS Key Garage KG787BTC, which adds app control but carries no security grade. See the whole Key Storage range, and compare ratings before you buy: the LPS1175 A10 and B1 certification is what sets the Wolflok Pro apart.
A mechanical key safe is the simplest handover for occasional hosts: no batteries to monitor for access, no Wi-Fi and no app. Hosts who want automated check-in codes, PMS integration or an access log will be better served by a smart lock. Our guides cover the key safe option for occasional hosts, a side-by-side comparison, which setup suits you and the wider Airbnb and short-stay chapter.
No. It is a purely mechanical key safe, so there is no access log, no remote code sharing and no notifications. If you need those, look at a Bluetooth key safe - see how a Bluetooth key safe compares, or the ABUS KG787BTC.
Codes and the Keypad
The keypad has ten buttons and each digit can be used up to four times in a code, which gives over 9.7 million possible codes. That lets you build a code that is easy to remember, such as one with a repeated digit, without it being easy to guess. Wolflok's manual gives 199991 as a valid code and 199999 as an invalid one, because the 9 would be used more than four times.
Avoid obvious codes such as a run of numbers or a birth year, pick something you will remember, and write it down and keep it somewhere safe away from the key safe. There is no master override and neither Wolflok nor Gold Coast Smart Locks holds codes, so the written record is your only fallback.
Open the weather cover, press the clear button, turn the open dial 180 degrees clockwise and lift the lid. With the lid open, turn the dial back 180 degrees anticlockwise so the latch is pushed out, then take the dial fully round to the locked symbol. Slide the code cover across to expose the code dials, take out the WFK898 code change tool, and set each digit's dial to the number of times that digit appears in your code - every digit you are not using goes to 0. The illustrated steps are on pages 10 to 17 of the Wolflok Pro manual, and there is a video: How to Code Wolflok and Wolflok Pro.
Return the tool to its place, press clear, enter the new code and turn the dial to unlock. If the code is set correctly the latch retracts. Do this with the lid still open, so a mistake costs you nothing.
To open, check the dial arrow is at the locked symbol, press clear, enter the code, turn the open dial 180 degrees clockwise and open the lid. If it does not open, press clear, return the dial to the locked symbol and try again. To close, make sure the latch is in, close the lid and turn the dial 180 degrees anticlockwise until it clicks.
Wolflok stores the tool inside the vault, behind the key hooks, so only someone who already knows the code can reach it. Use only this tool on the code dials - a screwdriver will damage the mechanism and void the warranty. A replacement is available as the WFK898 Spare Code Change Tool.
Installation and Mounting
Brick, concrete, flat stone or rendered masonry (render up to 20mm) with the WFK001FK XL screws and wall plugs gives the B1 rating, and Wolflok recommends this method where possible. On single-skin walls use the WFK311 standard screws (A10), because the XL screws may damage a single-skin wall. Timber is possible with the standard screws only, but the LPS1175 approval does not cover wood. Check what is behind any render or cladding before you drill.
Position it at least 150mm from any external corner and flat to the wall. Mark the holes with the paper template - never drill through the key safe - keeping them on the brick, not the mortar. Drill 4mm pilot holes, open them out with the 8mm bit to 110mm deep, and clean out the dust. Press the wall plugs flush, tapping them in with a hammer if needed, then fit the four XL screws: a ratchet or power tool can be used with care, but finish tightening by hand and do not over-tighten. The steps are on pages 18 to 22 of the Wolflok Pro manual.
Use the template the same way, drill four 5mm holes at least 70mm deep, and fit the four WFK311 screws by hand with a T30 Torx driver - Wolflok says not to use power tools on these screws. This is the method for single-skin walls.
Yes. The XL holes go 110mm deep, so check the cavity for pipes, cables and insulation before you drill.
Yes, with the WFK311 standard screws, but the LPS1175 approval does not cover wood. Drill four 4mm pilot holes 70mm deep with a standard (not masonry) bit. The timber should be at least 25mm thick and ideally 60mm; on thin walls the screws can come through the other side, so fix into a stud and keep at least 25mm from the edge.
Wolflok designs the range to be fitted by a competent DIYer using the supplied marking template. The rating depends on doing it correctly, so read when DIY installation is appropriate and the common installation mistakes first, or talk to us about advice and installation.
No. The security screws are single-use. Order a fresh set of WFK311 screws or WFK001FK XL screws and plugs before you reinstall.
Power, Illumination and Battery
The single CR2032 coin cell powers the keypad backlight and the vault light only. The locking mechanism is fully mechanical, so the key safe opens and closes normally on a flat battery - you just lose the lights until the cell is replaced.
Wolflok rates it at 2 years or 2,000 illumination cycles, whichever comes first - its manual puts it at about two years at four uses a day - and recommends a Renata CR2032.
Open the key safe and turn the dial to the locked symbol. Slide the code cover across, pull the light module out, and turn the battery cap with a coin. Fit the new CR2032 with the positive side facing out, refit the cap firmly (it keeps the module's seal waterproof), push the module back in, close up and check the light works. The steps start on page 34 of the Wolflok Pro manual, and there is a video: How to change the battery in Wolflok and Wolflok Pro.
Coin cells are dangerous if swallowed, so keep new and used batteries away from children and recycle old ones rather than putting them in household waste. Sieper Group has declared the Wolflok Pro compliant with the Australian button and coin battery Safety and Information Standards (2020) - the certificate is under PDF Files.
Weather, Coastal and Care
IP55 means the unit is protected against dust to the point it cannot interfere with operation, and against water jets from any direction - limited ingress is permitted, so it is weather resistant rather than waterproof. The weather cover is part of that rated system, so keep it fitted. More in IP ratings explained.
The zinc alloy body and stainless steel liner resist corrosion, and the unit has been through a salt mist laboratory test (2 hours of salt spray at 35°C). That is a cabinet test result, not a guarantee of coastal service life, so on the coast keep the cover fitted and give it the care described in coastal key safe maintenance.
The body resists common household cleaners, so a routine wipe-down is all it needs. Check the weather cover at the same time: in full sun it can go brittle before the body needs attention, and a replacement 910007 weather cover clips straight on.
Security, Warranty and Support
