The ABUS EVEROX One 61/45 is a keyless Bluetooth padlock on a 45 mm body with an open shackle. It opens from your phone through the free ABUS One app over a direct Bluetooth connection. There is no keyway, no dial and no code to remember - and nothing to plug in, pair to your Wi-Fi or sign a lock into.
Everything the lock does happens between it and a phone standing next to it. There is no hub, no bridge and no internet connection in the path, so there is nothing to go offline and no remote access to manage. Power comes from a single CR2 lithium cell inside the body, the Bluetooth link is encrypted to AES-128, and the shackle carries ABUS's NANO PROTECT marking.
The 61/45 is the smaller of the two EVEROX One bodies we stock. Where a hasp, staple or chain needs more room, the ABUS EVEROX One 61/50 (6150C) is the same padlock on a 50 mm body. Each EVEROX One is supplied with its own ABUS Keycard, and you scan it in the app when you add the lock. Do not throw it out once the padlock is set up and do not hand it to anyone else: the Keycard is what proves the lock is yours, and it is matched to this padlock alone. Where you own more than one ABUS lock, check you are scanning the card that belongs to the one in front of you. Put it somewhere safe with your paperwork - not in the shed the padlock is holding shut.

ABUS One App
The EVEROX One is run entirely from ABUS's own app, which is free and available for both phone platforms - iOS 13.0 or later, and Android 8.0 or later . The handset also needs Bluetooth 4.0 LE or higher, which covers any phone sold in the last decade. The instruction booklet carries the download codes for both stores.
Setting the padlock up is short: install the app, turn Bluetooth on, start the app and follow it through. When you are ready to add this lock, press Add new ABUS lock and scan the ABUS Keycard that came with it. Where you have several ABUS locks, the cards are not interchangeable - scan the one that belongs to the padlock in your hand.
This is ABUS's own platform. It is not TTLock, Tuya or any third-party ecosystem, so it does not fold into property-management tools built around those systems, and there is no gateway or bridge to add to it later. ABUS's instructions for the EVEROX One set two environmental limits and give no rating at all. Keep the lock between -10 °C and +50 °C, and out of long spells of direct sunlight. There is no IP or ingress rating stated anywhere in those instructions, so this page does not quote one - and you should treat any figure you see elsewhere with the same caution. If the lock is going on a fully exposed gate, on the water, or anywhere it will be hosed down, buy on a published ingress rating rather than on a guess; Chapter 11 explains what those ratings actually mean, and we are happy to point you at something rated if that is what the job needs. Both bodies are catalogue designations for the EVEROX One range. The two locks are operated identically; body size is the difference. If the fitting is marginal, measure it before ordering, or send us the dimensions and we will tell you which one goes on.

There is no ingress rating row above because ABUS state no rating for this padlock - see where this padlock can live. Shackle diameter, shackle clearance, body dimensions and weight are not stated anywhere in the documents we hold either; if a fitting is tight, tell us the opening you need to clear and we will measure a lock before it ships. Item code, body size and finish are catalogue details rather than figures out of the instruction booklet.
Battery & Power
- One CR2 3 V lithium cell, 850 mAh, supplied with the padlock and sitting inside the body.
- Changing it takes a cross-head screwdriver. Undo the screw and swing the battery cover out, lift the old cell out and drop the new one in the right way round, then reseat the cover - and check the gasket is sitting correctly in its groove before you screw it back. The instructions show a correct and an incorrect gasket position side by side, which tells you how much it matters.
- There is no key override on this padlock. If the cell goes flat while the lock is closed, there is no mechanical way in - which is the trade-off you accept for having no keyhole. Change the cell at the first sign of trouble rather than the last, and do not leave a marginal battery in a lock holding something you need at 6am. - ABUS doesn't quote a running life for the cell, and we would not put a number on it either - it depends on how often the lock is opened and how cold it gets. Our honest take on battery expectations in general sits in battery life, the truth rather than the marketing version.
- Treat the cell properly. Keep batteries away from children - swallowing one is a medical emergency, not a wait-and-see. Never short, pierce, dismantle, heat, recharge or burn a lithium cell, take a flat one out straight away, and wear gloves and wipe the compartment dry if a cell has leaked.
Buying a padlock with no keyhole is a decision about what happens on a bad day, not a good one. Our guide's no key override section is written for exactly that question.

No. The EVEROX One has no keyway at all, so there is no mechanical way to open it if the CR2 cell dies while the lock is closed. That is the honest trade for a padlock with nothing on it to pick. Replace the cell as soon as it starts playing up, and think twice before this lock is the only thing between you and something time-critical. ABUS's instructions for this padlock give no IP or weather rating - none at all - so we will not tell you it is rated for exposure. What they do state is a temperature range of -10 °C to +50 °C and a caution against long spells in direct sunlight. In practice that reads as a lock for sheltered outdoor and indoor positions. If it is going somewhere genuinely exposed - a beachfront gate, anywhere it gets hosed - buy on a stated rating instead, and read what IP ratings mean first.
The free ABUS One app, on iOS 13.0 or later or Android 8.0 or later, and a handset with Bluetooth 4.0 LE or higher. No internet connection is needed to open the lock - the phone talks straight to the padlock over Bluetooth, which also means you cannot open it from anywhere but beside it. There is no hub or gateway for this model.
No - keep it. The Keycard comes with the padlock, you scan it in the app when you add the lock, and it is what proves the lock is yours. ABUS is explicit that it must be kept safe after setup and never handed to a third party. If you own more than one ABUS lock, the cards are matched to individual products, so scan the right one. Store it with your paperwork, not in the place the padlock is protecting.
Body size, and nothing else that matters. The 6145C is the 45 mm body; the 6150C is the 50 mm body. Same app, same CR2 cell, same NANO PROTECT shackle marking, same way of working. Choose on the fitting: a tight hasp or a small staple takes the 45 mm, a chain or a heavier gate fitting usually wants the 50 mm body.

There is no cylinder, no override and no service key on this padlock, so the phone and the battery are the whole access story. That is a genuine security gain - nothing to pick, nothing to copy - and a genuine risk if you are casual about the battery or you are the only person with the app on their phone. Measure the fitting, not the padlock. The 45 mm 6145C is the one that goes on where the 50 mm body fouls the hasp, the staple or the toolbox lid - narrow fittings, small cases, lockers. Where the lock is going through a chain or a heavier gate hasp, the 6150C is the safer pick. Neither document we hold states shackle diameter or clearance for either body, so if it is marginal, ask before you order rather than after.

Opening the Padlock
With the ABUS One app on your phone, standing at the lock. Open the app, select the padlock, and release it. There is no keyway, no dial and no keypad on the lock itself, so the phone is the only way in. The first time, you add the lock to the app by pressing Add new ABUS lock and scanning the ABUS Keycard supplied with it.
No. The connection is Bluetooth, phone to padlock, with nothing in between. That works in a paddock with no bars on the phone, and it keeps working when your internet is down. The other side of the same coin is that you cannot open the lock from anywhere except beside it - there is no gateway or bridge for this model. If that distinction is new to you, smart versus connected is the two-minute version.
Close enough to touch it, in practice. ABUS doesn't quote a working range for this padlock, so we will not invent one - but Bluetooth low energy in general is a short-range technology, and a padlock is something you are standing in front of anyway. Access is managed in the ABUS One app, so it is not a one-phone-only product. What we will not do is quote you a user limit: ABUS's instructions for the EVEROX One do not state one, and the figure that used to sit on this page came from no document we hold. If the number of users is the deciding factor for your job, ask us and we will get it confirmed before you order rather than after.
No - Bluetooth from the app is the only credential. The ABUS Keycard
Two things. You scan it in the app to add the padlock in the first place, and after that it stands as your proof of ownership for the lock. It is matched to one product, so if you have several ABUS locks, the cards are not interchangeable - check you are scanning the card that belongs to the padlock in front of you.
No, and this is the single most important thing on this page. ABUS states in bold that the Keycard must be kept safe even after setup is finished, because it is the proof that the lock is yours - and that it must never be given to a third party. Treat it like the title papers, not like the packaging. Keep it with your documents at home or in the office; not in the shed, van or locker the padlock is holding shut.
Don't guess your way through it, and don't let anyone else keep it if it turns up in the wrong hands. ABUS's instructions set out what the card is for but not a replacement procedure, so we will not pretend to one here. Battery and Power
A single CR2 3 V lithium cell, 850 mAh, and yes - one comes with the padlock. CR2 is a common camera-type cell, not a coin battery, so keep a spare in the drawer rather than assuming the servo will have one at 7pm.
Undo the screw in the battery cover with a cross-head screwdriver and swing the cover out. Lift the old cell out, drop the new one in the correct way round, then put the cover back - and before you tighten the screw, look at the gasket. It has to be sitting correctly in its groove; ABUS shows a right and a wrong seating position side by side in the instructions, which tells you how much they care about it. A gasket pinched out of place is how water gets into a lock that was otherwise fine.
ABUS doesn't publish a figure for this padlock and we are not going to estimate one for you - it depends entirely on how often the lock is opened and how cold it gets. What we will say is that batteries in outdoor hardware go flat sooner than the box suggests, and that a padlock you open twice a day is a different proposition to one on a shed you visit at Easter. Chapter 13 on power and batteries is the general guidance.
You cannot open it. There is no cylinder to put a key in and no override port, so a flat cell on a closed lock is a problem, not an inconvenience. This is the one real discipline a keyless padlock asks of you: change the cell early, and do not put this lock on the only way into somewhere you might need in a hurry. Smart locks that don't have a key override and what actually fails in the real world are both worth reading before you commit.
Weather, Temperature and Where It Can Live
We cannot tell you it is, and we will not. ABUS's instructions for this padlock carry no IP rating, no weather rating and no ingress claim of any kind - the only environmental guidance in them is a restriction. If a stated rating matters for your job, buy on one: IP ratings and what matters for outdoor use on the Gold Coast explains why the number is worth insisting on, and we stock padlocks that carry one.
-10 °C to +50 °C, and out of prolonged direct sunlight. Both come straight from ABUS. The top of that range is closer than it sounds on the Gold Coast: the inside of a locked ute canopy or a steel shed in February gets well past 50 °C, and a padlock sitting in full afternoon sun all summer is exactly the case ABUS is warning about. A shaded position will do this lock a lot of good.
Salt air is hard on every lock, and harder on one with electronics in it. With no corrosion or ingress rating stated for this model, a beachfront gate is not where we would put it - that is a job for something with a published rating and a maintenance routine. Coastal environments, Gold Coast specific and the Buyer's Guide's Queensland-specific considerations are the honest background, and a free site survey will settle it faster than a guess.
Security and Data
The link is encrypted to AES-128, which is the standard you would expect on a lock at this level, and the radio itself is a low-power 2.402 to 2.480 GHz Bluetooth connection at under 10 dBm. Because there is no gateway and no internet leg, there is also a whole class of remote attack that simply does not apply - somebody has to be standing next to your padlock to be near it at all. Not something we will claim. The ABUS instructions for the EVEROX One say nothing about an audit trail or access history, so if a defensible record of who opened what and when is part of your requirement, do not buy this padlock on the assumption that it keeps one. Take the battery out and dispose of it as a battery, not as household rubbish, and delete any personal data stored on the product before you pass it on or dispose of it - that instruction is ABUS's own. The padlock itself is electronic waste and should go to a collection point rather than the bin.
Choosing, Sizing and Alternatives
The 6145C is the 45 mm body and the 6150C is the 50 mm body. Everything else - the app, the CR2 cell, the NANO PROTECT shackle marking, the temperature limits - is the same. Pick on the fitting the lock has to go through, and if it is tight, the 45 mm is the one that goes on.
Neither EVEROX One body is a long-shackle lock, and no shackle clearance figure is stated for either. If you already know you need height through the shackle, start with a lock that offers it - the Master Lock 6400LJENT Pro Series long-shackle Bluetooth padlock is the obvious alternative. Yes, but it is a different product. A key safe holds the key you already have and opens on a code or from a phone - the ABUS Key Garage One KG787BTC Smart Bluetooth is the app-managed one in that range. It is not a padlock and it does not secure anything itself; it solves the handover problem instead. Storing the override key outside the house covers when that is the better answer.
Setup, Care and Support
A damp cloth, and that is all. No solvents, no degreaser, no aggressive cleaning agents - they will do more harm to the seals and the housing than the dirt was doing.
No. It is a padlock - it goes through the hasp, staple or chain you already have, and the only setup is adding it to the app. The work worth doing is on the other side: a lock is only as good as the hasp it hangs off, and a cheap staple undoes a good padlock.
