Auslock Handy Series H11A Smart Latch Lock — No Fingerprint

The Auslock Handy Series H11A is a slim smart latch lock designed to retrofit onto timber entry doors using a standard lever set door preparation. It provides four access methods — PIN code, RFID card, Bluetooth app, and mechanical key — managed through the Auslock App on iOS and Android. No fingerprint sensor is included; for the fingerprint-enabled variant see the Auslock H11B.

The adjustable latch body covers both 60 mm and 70 mm backsets — both sizes are included in the box. The lever handle direction is independently field-adjustable on both front and back panels to suit left- or right-hand door swing without additional parts. Available in Black and Silver on this listing. Add the optional Auslock G2 or G3 Gateway for remote app access, real-time notifications, and Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice control.

Suitable Uses

Residential timber entry doors — retrofits onto existing lever set preparations with 60 mm or 70 mm backset; no additional drilling required on most standard doors.
Thick or thin doors — 30–70 mm door thickness range is the widest of any Auslock latch lock model; suits unusually thin internal doors and thicker external doors alike.
Airbnb and short-stay rentals — timed PIN codes and e-keys for guests; add a gateway for remote access and credential management. See Chapter 07 — Smart locks for Airbnb.
Buyers who don't want fingerprint — the H11A is the only model in the current Auslock range without a fingerprint sensor. Choose it when privacy concerns, dry/aged fingers, or simply user preference makes fingerprint enrolment unsuitable. For fingerprint access, see the H11B.
Not for fire-rated doors — the H11A does not carry fire rating certification and must not be used on fire door applications.

Battery, Power & Backup

The H11A runs on 4 × AA alkaline batteries — not included. Use alkaline only; do not use lithium or rechargeable cells. The low-battery alert fires below 4.5 V — note this is a lower threshold than some other Auslock models (the S3B and T13B alert at <4.8 V). Replace all four batteries at the same time when notified.

USB-C Emergency Power
If batteries fully deplete, hold a USB-C power bank to the front panel port to provide temporary power — this activates the touchscreen for PIN entry so you can get inside and replace the batteries. Keep a power bank accessible outside the property.

The mechanical backup key provides a final failsafe independent of battery state. Always keep one key at a secure off-site location.

Remote App Access & Gateway

The H11A connects to the Auslock App via Bluetooth for local control within approximately 5 m. For remote access from anywhere — locking, unlocking, viewing history, managing credentials, and enabling voice control — an Auslock Gateway is required within ~15 m of the lock.

Auslock G2 Gateway (Wi-Fi) — plug-in; connects to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Auslock gateways use 2.4 GHz only. If your router merges bands, see the band-steering guide.
Auslock G3 Gateway (PoE Ethernet) — wired; no Wi-Fi band-steering issues; suited to commercial or IT-managed installs. See Chapter 08 — Gateway Comparison.

Auslock App

The H11A uses the Auslock App, available on iOS and Android. iOS App StoreAndroid Google Play This is Auslock's own proprietary platform — not TTLock, not Tuya. The app supports multiple admin levels, e-key sharing, named access codes, scheduled and recurring codes, activity logs, and remote access when a gateway is connected.

Choosing a smart lock means choosing an app platform. Chapter 15 — Smart Lock App Platforms covers what to look for in an ecosystem before you commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose between the 60 mm and 70 mm latch body?
Measure your door backset — the distance from the door edge to the centre of the spindle hole. Both latch bodies are in the box; choose the one that matches your existing door preparation. Using the wrong backset size is one of the most common install errors — confirm the measurement before fitting.
How do I adjust the handle direction?
Both front and back handles are independently adjustable. Loosen the four fixing screws on the handle, rotate to the required position for your door swing, then retighten. Do this before fitting the panels to the door. Also confirm the door handing setting in the Auslock App matches your door after pairing.
My permanent passcode stopped working — why?
Permanent passcodes must be tested within 24 hours of creation, otherwise they auto-expire as a security measure. Create the code, test it from the keypad immediately, and it will remain active indefinitely.
The latch does not catch the strike — what do I check?
First confirm the correct backset latch body is installed. Then check strike plate alignment — even 1–2 mm of door sag can prevent the latch from engaging cleanly. Test with the door open: if the latch operates smoothly open but fails when closed, adjust the strike plate position. See Chapter 12 — misalignment.
The touchpad has no response after installation — what do I check?
Confirm the AA batteries are installed with correct polarity and have sufficient charge. Check the wire connection between front and back panels. If both are correct, check for pinched wiring inside the door preparation. See 3 common DIY installation mistakes.

Additional Information

H11A vs H11B — the only difference is fingerprint
The H11A and H11B are identical in every way — same body, same electronics, same app, same backset options, same door range — except the H11B adds a fingerprint sensor. Choose the H11A if you prefer not to use fingerprint enrolment, or if users have low-contrast fingerprints that produce unreliable reads. Choose the H11B if biometric access is important.
Auslock App is not TTLock
The H11A uses the Auslock App — a distinct platform from TTLock or Tuya. If you need PMS integration or inter-brand compatibility, this is not the right product. Chapter 15 — Choosing an App Platform explains the distinction.
DIY installation suitability
The H11A retrofits onto standard lever set door preparations without extra drilling — making it DIY-accessible on most timber entry doors. Confirm your door prep format and backset before ordering. Read the three most common smart lock install mistakes before starting.
Low-battery threshold is lower on H11A
The H11A low-battery alert fires below 4.5 V — lower than the 4.8 V threshold on the S3B and T13B. This means the alert fires later in the discharge cycle. Do not delay replacement when notified; the margin between the alert and the lock ceasing to operate is smaller than on other models.
